Missiles are a weapon that has been in Metroid games since the beginning. Missiles are a strong attacking weapon that shoots with a moderate reload rate. You begin with missiles, so you start with a powerful weapon from the very start. When charged, the Missiles do much more damage, and with a quick succession of fast uncharged shots, can be deadly really quick. When Samus uses missiles, and charges them, it nearly doubles the amount of damage and it homes in on the opponent.
