In an IGN Interview, information has been revealed about the Metroid Prime 3 Weapons System.

There are two main factors in the new weapons system of Metroid Prime 3.

The first is the focus on Missles, Beam, and Power Beam. In this game, Beams will not be switched between but will use a stacking system like Super Metroid in Metroid Fusion.

For example, your beam will be upgrading with abilities like Plasma, Shoot through Walls (Wave), and so forth.

A greater focus on Missles and Grapple Beam has also been announced with upgrades for both. Upgrades have not been specifically mentioned but can vary with the amount of control given by the Wii-mote.

The second change is the Corruption Hyper Mode System. According to the interview, Samus gets corrupted by Phazon (physically). This allows her to enter a Hyper Mode where her vision and weapons change giving her extreme power. This allows Samus to annihilate though she cannot maintain this for long. The time period varies with how the user uses the power. Overabuse of the power can lead to death.

Visors have also been announced including the return of the X-Ray Visor to be used in conjunction with the shoot through walls beam and the Command Visor which allows Samus to control her ship.

Though not yet officially dated, Nintendo has revealed the latest game in the Metroid Prime Saga, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

Several details have been revealed about the game in e3.

  • Aiming will be done with the use of the Wii-mote thus deviating from the previous GCN games' use of lock-on action

  • The pin-point action of the Wii-mote will be used to solve puzzles, open doors, and use the Grapple Beam in new ways

  • A mysterious new hunter, presumably Vhozon, has been revealed as a friend to Samus. We see it assisting her with a Space Pirate fleet with freezing blasts as he flies through the air on ice, Iceman style.

  • Ridley has been shown to be a boss fought while dropping through the air

  • The return of Dark Samus has been announced

But recently Nintendo's Official Metroid site [Luminoth Temple] Interviewed Retro Studios. They didn't seem to reveal much about the upcoming game just some tidbits of interesting things.

Retro Studios confirmed that this would be the last of the Metroid Prime titles (maybe not for the DS) and that "The plot of Prime 3 is about closure, told against the backdrop of an epic struggle," Says Retro. They also confirmed that this game will be in First Person and that the mysterious Phazon material will be playing a big role.

"We plan on taking advantage of a number of new features in the Revolution, including the controller," says Retro.

Retro also tells us that Kenji Yamamoto will be returning to the music production of the game. "We hope to take the music into some new directions for this title, and there's no doubt Mr. Yamamoto is going to relish the challenge,"

Nintendo decided to make, for the first time ever, a new twist to the Metroid franchise, we welcome "Metroid Prime: Pinball (DS)" to the series for the DS system. Though a pinball game, it also has its own storyline including the Space Pirate's, and the usual enemies from the Metroid Prime series. The touch screen features the map system database that show different views of the level.

Though not the final version of the game, you could already see that the Nintendo has made this one of the most unique pinball games of our time, check again for updates.

Ever since the demo release of "Metroid Prime: Hunters" was released in fall, it became one of the most anticipated Metroid games ever to hit Nintendo. The control scheme of this game will include the touch screen reference making it similar to using a mouse with a PC. Alternate color schemes are being included as of now but there hs been no guarantee that Nintendo will develop it in its final stage of developement. If you think the demo version was good without the features of the final version, you have no idea, the final game will contain a number of different competitive modes, such as hunter battle, which is the standard deathmatch; system hack, in which you try to take control of and then hold strategic points on the map; and bounty, which is a kill-the-man-with-the-ball sort of mode that has you scoring points by taking a specific object to a goal point.

One of the first actual screens provided by Nintedo, show the Multiplayer capacity of the game. The multiplayer mode will also feature access to multiple weapons, abilities, and touch screen info manuals for those that are new to the game. It has become obvious that Nintendo had worked hard to develop this game and if there's one thing we can conclude, is that its going to be a one of a kind game.
